This card is not only CAS in design, but it used very limited supplies and was very quick to make! My card is mostly pink–ranging from light pink to almost red) with just a teeny tiny touch of celery. Can you spot it? lol!

And my “white space” is really PINK space. :)

I started off with a freebie I have for you HERE, and I printed it at 3 inches tall. Colored it with my Tria Markers, and cut it out leaving about 1/8 of an inch all the way around.

I gathered a wide strip of paper and glued a smaller strip of digital designer paper on top to hold the folds. Then I stitched it to my card base (using a long stitch) with my sewing machine. I also stitched a partial rectangle on the card base for an extra CAS design element.

The image is attached with dimensional foam. And after roughing up the sentiment a bit, I attached it with dimensional foam on one side, and craft glue on the other.

So this week’s project to try is to recycle an empty container, and alter it into something useful and beautiful. You do not need to use a D2D image to link up your project. Hopefully Kim’s project will inspire you to try something new…it inspired me to try. :)

For my project I used an empty drink mix container and altered it into a fun flower holder. I had many different sized packages of paper and silk flowers that didn’t fit well anywhere. This container holds a lot and keeps them protected, and I was able to toss all of the mismatched packaging.

It’s also easy to snap off the lid, and dump them out to select the perfect flower to use on my project. I created a hand-written label that is just clipped on so that I can easily use this container to store something different if I want to.

Funny story…I was printing out some of the new papers that will be release later this month, and my printer ran out of red/magenta ink. So it transitioned into this wonderful green!

I didn’t want it to go to waste, so I used it for my project. :) Then I changed the original red/pink paper to match what I printed, and I have it as a freebie for you below. Just click on the watermarked paper below and a new window will open for you to grab the paper from my store. Enjoy!

Now onto my project…

To make the label more interesting, I googled “French word for flower” and “des fleurs” is what came up for the plural form. I hope it’s right. lol!

These are the empty containers I was able to throw away after creating my space-saving container, and there’s lots more room in it for more flowers.

If you are someone who really likes to be organized and have everything in order, than you may like my other solution for flower storage. This is a container I purchased to store beads. It’s the perfect size! The individual containers stack and screw together, and there is just a single lid on the top. Here is another view:
