Make Your Own Background Paper with Digital Stamps

Here's a beautiful example of using a digi stamp to create a background paper. In this set of images, the .png files have transparent backgrounds (no white box), so you are able to put them close together like Sheila did in this card. The sentiment is also a .png file, so it can be layered using your computer over the images. Many times stamp sets come with smaller coordinating stamps that are perfect for creating your own background papers. Did you know that you can change the color of a black digital stamp? I'm sure there are many ways to do it. Here's a really simple way to change the color of your digistamp using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. 1) Open your black digital stamp like you would to edit a photo.2) Make sure the MODE is set to a color mode and not Greyscale. I made this card for the Clearly Inspired Challenge on the Clear Dollar Stamps Blog.Here are a few quick tips:To make the two different shades of background out of one piece of designer paper, I dry embossed the paper using a my Cuttlebug, and then sanded the top half, and sponged the bottom half with a darker coordinating ink. Yea!! I was able to make a card today...just in time for The Pixie Cottage Challenge deadline. My WONDERFUL husband bathed all 3 kids tonight while I had a glass of wine, some chocolate, and made a card using fabric from my quilting stash.
