Free Digital Stamp – True Love Story

I have something very special to share with you today…a freebie that is on my Facebook page!

Today is my husband’s and my 15th wedding anniversary, and I woke up with an image idea…and I thought it would be nice to give it away for a limited time. So you have all weekend to download “True Love” for FREE!

If you already “Like” my Facebook page, just click on the Welcome Tab at the top of the page (grey star) for the download link. If you are new to my Facebook page, I hope you will “Like” it first! :)

I was hoping to be able to merge my Designed2Delight FB page with the new From The Heart Stamps page, but FB doesn’t think they are similar enough, so that is not an option right now. I will eventually delete the Designed2Delight page, so please come on over and join us on the new page! I will be posting more freebies as the page grow it’s “Likes,” and you won’t want to miss out. :)

This is the freebie available right now, “True Love.” Enjoy!!

True Love Digital Stamp

On a personal note…

Love Story

I have been spending a LOT of time drawing this summer…just for me. Nothing you would be interested in seeing.  Before this summer, I was in a rut of only drawing stamp designs, doing the most drawing during my Whipper Snapper deadlines.

I was a bit burned out. Especially with the stress of the move.

So I started praying just for the desire to want to draw more, and the desire to put in the time to grow as an artist. God is faithful! With a break in homeschooling right now, I have had the time to draw…draw…draw. God has given me the desire. I have spent many days sitting outside drawing for hours. My normal quiet time of prayer and Bible study transitioned into a time of worship through drawing. It’s how I started my days for a few weeks. It was a welcome retreat from my normal routine.

I have been studying things I usually shy away from because I think they are too difficult. Classic anatomy for artists. Life drawing. Figure drawing. During my freshman year as an art major, I was terrified to take those classes. I was sure that my peers were better than I was. Those classes, like beginning illustration, would be too hard. So instead of pressing on, I gave up. I thought, I will always have art, I don’t need to do it as my job. I had no idea what to do with my life. But God knew. He is faithful. He knew the passion that I have for art and illustration when I didn’t. I moved on to study business marketing and management. I was blessed with my husband Nate. Together we have had many wonderful life experiences, including parenting 3 children, homeschooling, and going through two major moves. Through the mismatched, tangled threads of our life story, God has graciously woven together a life we could not have imagined. It’s much better than we could have done ourselves. That’s the point isn’t it? Relying and desperately depending on Jesus for something we are not capable of ourselves. He is part of our love story, and always will be. :)

All this drawing has really helped to release my creativity (even though I have just been drawing ordinary things I see, like flowers in the backyard, my coffee mug, our furniture, structures at the park), and I have been studying (and practicing) hard to be able to draw recognizable humans from my imagination. LOL! …I still have lots to learn! If you could only see my stack of books. :) So today’s drawing was a good exercise for me, and I really enjoyed it and I’m happy to share it with you. Usually I sketch with pencil in my sketch book (because I like to draw sitting outside), then I scan it in to my computer and digitally ink it. But today I did everything digitally on my Cintiq. I thought I would share a somewhat rough sketch from the middle of the process (I start with sketchy circles for the heads, if you must know..hehe). :) If you are on Facebook, you may have already seen this. The finished stamp is pretty much the same. I added calla lilies to the bottom, so I had to change her veil to balance the composition. My kids even posed their hands for me for reference. Giggling and squirming the whole time. It was pretty much useless.

  7. Lovely couple, thank you for taking the time to share with us today. Happy Anniversary!

  8. Happy Anniversary Faith. Thanks for sharing your story too. I can just imagine your kids giggling and squirming as they posed for you. At least they were prepared to help – a lot of kids these days wouldn’t be! I’m not on Facebook at all and at this stage have no desire to be so I’m hoping that you don’t move over to Facebook completely. Although I do know you have to do what is right for you. Because I’m not on Facebook, I’ll miss out on this darling image but I do want to tell you it is beautiful – all the more so because your kids were part of the process. Hugs, Suze

    • Thank you, Suze! I completely understand your feelings about Facebook. I successfully took 4 months off from FB, and it was wonderful. That said, I also understand that there are lots of crafters there, and it is fun to chat with them. :)

I’ll copy and paste my reply to someone else about FB… :)

I am not completely moving over to FB, just dropping other social papercrafting sites and focusing on one. Facebook because is where the artists of Stamp Out communicate, so it’s easy for me to have my page there. :)

I would be happy to email you the image. I appreciate all of my blog readers, too!!

  9. Happy Anniversary and congratulations on 15 years together in marriage!!! And thank you for the beautiful and heartfelt image!

  10. Thanks for sharing your work and your story… both are beautiful! Hope you and your husband had a wonderful anniversary.

  11. I can tell you drew this from the heart and soul. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us. You have a lot of talent and we all have a lot to learn. So, I pray for your happiness and growth in you talent. God will show you the way…… Especially if you are listening. :)

    • Thanks so much, Kaye! I try to remember to not do all the talking…;) It’s hard sometimes. :)

  12. Gorgeous image, thanks for sharing! Congratulations on your anniversary, hope you had a lovely day. :)

  13. I’d love this image,. and happy anniversary to you too! I couldn’t get it to work for me though.

    • Thanks, Terri. If I remember correctly…you were able to download it…email me if you were not.

  14. Just wanted to say thanks for the post. My husband is an artist so I totally understood your post about just drawing. Even as a card maker I love when I get to just create for fun ….not for a DT project or request. God loves his children and always provides even if it is just time to draw. I too am not on facebook for personal reasons and also hope you don’t move completely over there as I would miss your post. It is a lovely image and I’m glad you are practicing with “people” images.

  17. I had left you a message, but it obviously didn’t come through to you. (I have been having problems at my end though). I hope that you and your hubby had a wonderful anniversary and are looking forward to many more. This is a wonderful image, so much in love. I did try to get it from FB, but I wasn’t successful. Oh well. Hugs, Jen x
